UNIQUE GRADALL BOOM MOVEMENTS FOR EFFICIENT STEEL MILL MAINTENANCE Steel mill maintenance is dirty, hot, rugged work in extreme environments. Gradall and LAG steel mill machines are engineered and manufactured with this environment in mind. The machines’ boom range, swing, and tilt rotation movement allow for precise control, whether performing ladle or BOF furnace maintenance or tap hole cleanout and replacement in confined or crowded work areas. LADLE MAINTENANCE: Clean the bottom and side walls, Debrick wear lining, while not damaging permanent lining, Rake and remove slag from hot metal (with minimum metal loss), Push out and remove plug at base of ladle. BOF MAINTENANCE: Effectively descull converter lip, Clean and replace tap holes, Clean, debrick, repair and drill tap holes in converters, Hydraulic tap hole drill attachment, New tap hole insert tool. TORPEDO LADLE: Maintain hot metal troughs by removing hard slag, Clean out refractory brick, Torpedo car cleanup. ALUMINUM SMELTING: Handle pot cleaning and furnace teardowns, Reach through mouth of furnace for dross removal and cleaning, Torpedo car cleanup. ELECTRIC FURNACES: Clean and replace tap holes, Debrick and remove refractory lining materials, Rake and remove hot slag from pit below furnace.
